An Alpaca Festival

There was an Alpaca Festival held at the Uxbridge Historical Museum with live alpacas, weaving, knitting, spinning wheel demonstrations, children's activities & contests. Several booths were set up with alpaca products, such as socks, scarves, gloves, hats & duvets all made from alpaca fleece. I learned how the fleece from the alpaca goes to the mill all the way to producing the final product. I also learned lots of interesting information about the alpaca & the fleece they produce. Did you know that alpaca fleece is the warmest of any wool? So if you always have cold feet or work outdoors in the cold winter, you should get yourself a pair of socks or inserts for your boots made from alpaca fleece. It's guaranteed to keep you warm. It was a fun filled day for all the family.
